Snakes in the Country

I thought I'd share this on social media, but also here on SlingWords.

We left the hot city and went to the also hot country.

For some reason, sitting on the back porch here is tolerable when sitting on the patio at home is suffocating.

Yes, we are back at our house in the country. My Darling Hubby found this copperhead in our front flower bed.

These snakes are common in Texas and are highly poisonous. Fortunately, Hubby saw it before he saw my husband.

Take a good look at this copperhead so you can identify it in case they're also common where you live.

TAKEAWAY TRUTH

Growing up in the South and living in Texas—not part of the South as some think—one is accustomed to dealing with snakes.
