Takeaway Truth

Contests offer you a chance to test the waters, and conferences are a good place to meet other writers, agents, and editors.

  1. I would love for you to mention that West Houston RWA is bringing in Hollywood script consultant and plotting guru Michael Hauge for an intensive all-day workshop on Saturday, Nov. 12. The chapter is paying thousands of dollars to get him, but chapter members only have to pay $15 -- and that includes a free catered lunch. It will be open to the public at higher fees. Regeistration right now is limited to chapter members; on Oct. 16 registration will open to everyone, but attendance will be capped at 100. Check out www.whrwa.com.

  2. Cheryl Bolen ... Thanks for posting that, Cheryl! I'll mention it again next week. I'll also put it in my free newsletter Writing Hacks next week.
