Old Enough To Know Better: Kindle Exclusive

Earlier this week, a very nice rep from Amazon called to ask me to be one of the launch authors in their Kindle Prime Lending Program. Since I had just published Old Enough To Know Better and hadn't distributed it yet to the other digital publishers, I had a book ready to be made exclusive to Kindle which is a requirement.

After reading the contract, I decided to give it a try. So, as of today, Old Enough To Know Better is available to be "checked out" by Prime Members for free, but it can still be bought by anyone shopping Amazon even if they're not a Prime Member.

I'm in the process of uploading my next book today. Nobody's Cinderella will also be an Amazon Kindle Exclusive. More on this later. I'm in a time crunch at the moment.

Takeaway Truth

Readers, you are the test of whether this is worthwhile. Rush over to Amazon and get my book today free if you are a Prime Member.

  2. I was called before Thanksgiving, and I mulled it around for a while before finally deciding to put two of my 11 books up for the lending program. I will be given a few days to have them taken down for sale at other sites since the books in the program are exclusive to Amazon. At first they wanted 6 months exclusivity; that changed to 90 days. Much better, I think.

  3. Bev Pettersen... Thanks, Bev. I look at this as just another learning experience. You try something and see if it flies.

  4. Cheryl Bolen... Good luck, Cheryl. They asked me for 90 days. I'm going to give it a while to see if it flies.

So far I'm not seeing much results. Of course, that means, that all I can think of are the sales I'm losing elsewhere because my book's only on Kindle.

So I'll report back when I have something to report.
