For the last 2 months, my desk has been buried under paper and other detritus—photographs, sentimental items leftover from December, stacks of mail, copies of royalty statements, computer printouts, paid bill receipts, etc.
I'm the kind of person who cannot think clearly when my environment looks as if a clutter bomb exploded.
I spent the evening filing, reading mail and things printed from the internet, and throwing away non-essential items.
I boxed up 2022 papers, updated my accounting spreadsheet, and plan to be ready for income tax once all the statements arrive.
Despite what some may say, clutter keeps you from focusing on the present and working effectively.
If you're organizationally challenged, read any of the bestselling books about getting rid of clutter. It's a new year so make some new habits. Me? I'm trying to reclaim my old habits. *LOL*
TAKEAWAY TRUTH
"Every minute you spend looking through clutter, wondering where you put this or that, being unable to focus because you're not organized costs you: time you could have spent with family or friends, time you could have been productive around the house, time you could have been making money." —Jean Chatzky
Amen to that!
