Science fiction author Robert A. Heinlein said: "You can have peace. Or you can have freedom. Don't ever count on having both at once."After having lived through Vietnam and the Gulf Wars and having traveled rather widely, I'm afraid that Heinlein is correct in his judgment.
If you live in this country, thank a vet. They've been the thin line between you and your freedom and those who would take every freedom from you.

We spend as much on military as all other countries combined.
ReplyDeleteIt's not to protect our freedoms. No sovereign nation has attacked the US homeland since 1812.
If we can't afford to pay unemployment insurance to those who can't find work, we can't afford to have foreign nations on our welfare rolls.
We need to tell other countries that if they want to benefit from our military, they have to pay for it.
