Welcome to INDIE RESOURCES, a directory of services for Indie Authors, that is, those inclined to write and publish their own work as either ebooks or print books or both.

When I first started compiling this list, all the listings were referrals from authors who had used the various providers. Of those service providers, just about all of them were authors who also moonlight as editors or graphic artists, etc.

After I created this Indie Resources page, I began receiving emails from companies who provide these services who wanted to be listed here too. I debated a long time about including these, but I finally decided to include a listing along with the caveat that I am not endorsing any of the providers you may find on this page. 

Websites and email addresses come and go. At the time of publication, the submitted URLs and email addresses worked. No guarantee is given that they will always be active. If you get a non-working URL or email, please let me know so I can remove the listing before the next purge date of July 1, 2012.

If your DIY cover art just isn't good enough--and trust me, nothing screams "cheap eBook" more than an amateurish cover--try one of these freelance book cover artists to get the professional look you need.

If you don't know much about ebook formats, here's a great article to explain the Various Ebook Formats so you'll have a working knowledge of this since most digital publishing platforms have preferences about what they want as a file upload.

The Directory Links below take you to various websites that contain ebook format instructions. Listed at the end of the free resources are contractors who will format for a fee. They're all excellent in that they are clear and easy to follow. Why do I list more than one link? Because different authors express the same thing in different ways. What speaks to one may not mean much to another. So find the one that explains this process in a way that you can understand.
