Read Me! Love Me! Thrill Me!

As writers, we know what thrills us when it comes to writing and reading. Of course, much of what thrills us is connected to our writing lives.

Yet, we are also people with real lives--or at least we try to be. Sometimes what thrills us is a small moment in real life, completely unconnected to writing.

Here's a collection of what thrills some of us writers. Enjoy!

Lori Dillon, self-proclaimed Idiot Queen of Social Networking and author of Out of the Ashes, (available Feb. 14, 2012), was thrilled when she got her 100th Twitter Follower.

Trisha Wilson, Insanely Romantic...Incurably Romantic, author of An Unforgettable Christmas, was thrilled this week when she sold a copy of her book to a cashier after the cashier overheard a conversation about the book between Trisha and a friend.

Cynthia Wicklund, Romance...and Something More, author of Thief of Souls, cashed in all her survey and purchase points this week for $90 in Amazon Gift Certificates and is thrilled she can now buy the new Kindle Fire without (almost) feeling guilty!

Jennifer Lynne, Working Writer Mum with Too Many Hats, author of Pandora's Gift, was thrilled this week when she came home to a log fire and a glass of red after 12 hours at the theatre for daughter’s dance competition.

Vivienne Westlake, the Sweet and Sassy, a new author with Lady Northam's Wicked Surrender, was thrilled to celebrate the release of her first book this week.

Janelle Taylor, Still a Kid at Heart, multi-published, bestselling author was thrilled yesterday to receive the copy proof of her first children's book that was written many years ago for her grandchildren. How The Zebra Got Its Stripes will be her 51st published book.

Stephanie Queen, Political Intrigue Romance, author of Between a Rock and a Mad Woman, was thrilled to see, in person this week, that President Bill Clinton hasn't lost his speech-making touch.

Heather Hiestand, Twisted Historical Fantasy, author of Captain Andrew's Flying Christmas was thrilled this week by outselling three of her traditionally published novels in less than two weeks with her first indie title.

Liz Jasper, greedy chocolate eater, author of Underdead, was thrilled this week when she got her 15th five-star review.

Elaine Raco Chase, Bestselling Author of Contemporary Romantic Comedies and Mysteries, and author of Double Occupancy was thrilled this week to get her rights back to her bestselling mystery series featuring Roman Cantrell and Nikki Holden.

Finally, last, but, hopefully, not least, is I, Joan Reeves, It's Never Too Late To Live Happily Ever After, author of Romeo and Judy Anne. I was thrilled this week when my older brother came through emergency surgery without problems.

Takeaway Truth

The thrilling moments in our lives often make a big impact.

  3. Kristyn, Romantic Love Books ...Hey, there! Thank you so much for the review of ROMEO and JUDY ANNE.

Glad you picked up on the "nobody's perfect" characterization. My editor at Kensington always said that she liked my books because people weren't all lily white (I do a lot of multi-cultural characters) nor perfect--all designed to reflect the real world in which we live.

    Have a great November!
